Tenerife tram turns 10 years of service
Tenerife Island Government and Metrotenerife holds this year the tenth anniversary of the Tenerife Tram that on 2nd June of 2007 connected the cities of Santa Cruz and La Laguna. Thus, the Island became part of the European cities group, which work for the sustainable mobility.
The president of Tenerife Island Government and Metrotenerife, Carlos Alonso, and the managing director of Metrotenerife, Andrés Muñoz de Dios, presented several activities to celebrate the tram anniversary. The main event will be the European Tramdriver Championship on 4th of June. In that edition will take part 23 teams of 14 cities and Israel as a guest country. The disciplines will take place in a section of tram line in Bravo Murillo.
The competition will be broadcast live on streaming across the world.
