Island Government studies alternatives of public transport between San Isidro and Adeje
The Island Government, through Metrotenerife, will study alternatives of public transport of high-capacity between San Isidro and Adeje. The Board of Management of the tram company agreed to tender the drafting services of the study with the goal to reduce the traffic on this section of the south highway. Among the alternatives that are being studied are the extensions of the bus network with exclusive lanes, the implementation of the southern train, the service of a tram or a train-tram in the area or the implementation of HVO-bus lanes. These and other mobility proposals will be subjected to a multi-criteria analysis in which aspects such as functionality and efficiency, environmental sustainability, demand, exploitation and investment resources will be assessed, among other evaluation criteria.
The president of Metrotenerife and the Island Government, Carlos Alonso, explained this study will allow us to define the pattern of mobility on this section of the motorway and, on the basis of multi-criteria analysis, determine the most appropriate public transport solution.
The drafting services of the study will be carried out with charge to the funds of the agreement with the State. The tender budget is 386.066 Euro and the document will be published on the usual channels of information.
