Island Government activates the ten+VAO app to promote car-sharing
The Island Government, in collaboration with Metrotenerife and Titsa, launches the plan ‘Pilotos Pioneros ten+VAO’ to promote the use of car-sharing. This is the fifth measure of the initiative ‘Revoluciona tu forma de moverte’ wich offers discounts and advantages on the bus and tram to travel throughout the island.
The president of the Island Government highlighted that it is estimated that nine out of 10 vehicles that circulate early in the morning are only occupied by the driver. He informed also that ten+VAO system has been awarded by the Global Light Rail Awards, the sector’s most important awards for excellence and innovation, in the categories of ‘Best Environmental and Sustainability Initiative’ and ‘Vision of the Year’.
The director of the Island Mobility, Miguel Becerra, remembered that ten+VAO joins the rest of the actions presented so far, wich are the Ten+Infantil, Bono Residente Canario and the discount for the Youth Pass and the Metropolitan Monthly Pass, which encourage the citizenship to use the public transports and to adopt a sustainable mobility.
The new ten+VAO is available in the ten+movil app and the user will receive advantages the same day of the shared trip:
-driver and passengers: 4 free journeys in the metropolitan area public transport
-driver: free parking in the intermodal station of Santa Cruz and La Laguna
