Double tram every 10 minutes for the days and nights of Carnival

Metrotenerife starts its plan of special services for the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2018 with a strong reinforcement of Line 1. It has been programmed the circulation of double trams with frequencies of 10 minutes, from this Friday 9th and until Tuesday (day 13). The La Paz tram stop will be the station of origin and destination of the line in the night services and will also be installed the security point with permanent presence of National Police units.

Carnival weekend

For this first Carnival weekend, from Friday 9th to Sunday 11st, the double trams of Line 1 will circulate every 10 minutes in the morning and afternoon. Also, on the occasion of the Day Carnival (Sunday 11st), the line will only be operative between La Trinidad and Teatro Guimerá tram stops, from 9:00 am until the end of the service at midnight.

For the uninterrupted night services on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th and after Monday 12nd, the double trams will have frequencies of 10 minutes in the hours of maximum demand, and from 12 to 15 minutes in the rest of the time. La Paz stop will be from 10:00 pm at night the station of origin and destination of the line.

This stop in La Paz will have supports for control access, validation machines and ten+móvil QR sticks to validate the tickets, as well as offices for the sale of tickets. Inspectors and private security, cleaning and maintenance staff, and the presence of a permanent unit of the National Police will be part of the human team that will ensure that the service is in best conditions. During the operation of the plan, the Puente Zurita tram stop will be out of service for safety reasons.

Tuesday of Carnival, day 13

The double tram of Line 1 will have a frequency of 10 and 15 minutes on Tuesday of Carnival (day 13), day of the Coso Apoteósico, and they will end their journey at the Teatro Guimerá tram stop.

Metrotenerife reminds tram customers to make good use of facilities and vehicles so everyone can enjoy them while following the rules of urbanity. Pedestrians and drivers are asked to respect the signs and traffic regulations so that the service can develop in best conditions.
