Metrotenerife exhibits in its tram stops the winning and finalists photographs of the contest Tenerife Moda
Héctor Amaro received the award that confirms him as winner of the seventh edition of the Photography Contest Tenerife Moda organized by the Island Government. Perfect Beauty was the winner picture among other 142 photographs. Mujeres al borde, which belongs to the same author, got the second place.
The award for Héctor Amaro includes an economic reward of 3.000 Euros and a trophy that represents a photo camera. The ceremony was attended by the vice-president of the Island Government, Efraín Medina; Metrotenerife’s manager, Andrés Muñoz de Dios; the manager of the Company Insular de Artesanía, Ricardo Cologán; and the director of Tenerife Moda, José Eugenio Sánchez.
Twenty mupies of the tram stops exhibit already the winner photography and the other finalist pictures. Andrés Muñoz de Dios said that: “this is a different way of enjoy the artist’s work”. In the same line, Medina explained that this national contest has the aim of encouraging the work and creativity of the photography professionals.
The finalists, besides Héctor Amaro, who also won the second place, are Daniel Carlos Pérez Pérez (Gran Canaria) and Álvaro Sebastián Gracia Serrano (Valencia). This year, the contest counted with 23 participants of different places among which are Valencia, Zaragoza and País Vasco. In the same way, the jury that is integrated by professionals from different areas took into account aspects like the coherence between the message of the photography and the contest topic; the creativity and originality; the capacity to translate the ideas that the authors want to transmit; the use of the technical tools; the digital treatment; and the direct intervention in post-production.
It is the third time that Héctor Amaro has presented to this contest. He has been dedicated to fashion photography for five years. The photographer, which describes himself like a beauty lover, said that: “I didn’t think to present me again, but after knowing that the topic of this year is the fashion and hairdressing talked it with my collaborator, the hairdresser Gilberto Abad, and he was who encouraged me to introduce myself with this work, which was realized between Madrid and Tenerife”. And he adds that: “this double award is a recognition to all my team, because a fashion photographer isn’t anything without them”.
